PAOLA SHARLEEN VALDEZ Family protection

Families in the immigration process

Protect your family and add a document to your case.

A life insurance policy naming your spouse as beneficiary is one of the shared-life documents immigration attorneys often recommend, alongside a joint bank account or a lease in both names. Your attorney decides what your case presents; I make sure the policy is in place quickly and done right, with no-exam options depending on your case.

Common questions

Before you begin

Does USCIS require a life insurance policy?

No, it isn't required. It's one of the shared-life documents many immigration attorneys recommend to support the evidence of a bona fide marriage. Your attorney decides your case strategy; I only handle the insurance.

Does having a policy guarantee my case is approved?

No. No policy approves or speeds up an immigration case. It's one more document your attorney can present, and the decision always belongs to the authorities.

Do I need a specific immigration status to buy life insurance?

Each insurer has its own rules about documentation and residency, and they vary by insurer and by case. We review yours together before starting, at no cost.

Do I need to know what type of insurance I need?

No. Tell me what or who you want to protect and I'll explain your options step by step.

How much does life insurance cost?

It depends on your age, your health, the type of policy and the coverage you choose. There are options for different budgets; in our conversation I'll explain the factors and what to expect.

Do I need a medical exam?

Not always. Some policies can be issued without a medical exam, depending on the carrier, the product and your case. We'll review it together as we explore your options.

What is mortgage protection life insurance?

It's life insurance on a person, designed so your family can keep up with household payments if you're gone. It is not homeowners insurance, private mortgage insurance or government mortgage insurance, and New Priority Lending Corp. does not require it.

What are living benefits?

Benefits many policies include that let you access part of your insurance benefit while you're alive if you face a qualifying critical, chronic or terminal illness, according to the policy's terms. I'll explain what each option includes.

Does talking with you cost anything or commit me?

No. The conversation is free and pressure-free: requesting contact does not obligate you to buy any product or service.

Which states do you serve, and in which language?

Insurance inquiries: Maryland residents. I can help you in Spanish or English, whichever you prefer.
